There are two steps to secure a spot on one of our programs: fill out the registration form and pay a deposit. Before you do so, please read through our School Policies.

Registration Process:

  1. Fill out our online registration form. See below.
  2. Pay a deposit. You can send us funds directly via Wise, use a credit card via Paypal on our Tuition page, or mail us a check, or other option. Your spot is secured when we receive your deposit. Please note that deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Details on our policies are on our Tuition page. If you will be using GI Bill benefits to pay tuition, go to our GI Bill page for the deposit procedure and related information.

Once You Have Registered:

Join our private online community at Our longer programs each get their own private group within the community to facilitate sharing photos, rides, etc. It is our preferred method of communication with course participants. Unlike social media, your information is never sold or shared, and you are not tracked.

Rolling Admission:

We have a rolling admission policy for all of our programs. You may apply at any time up until the deadline for each specific program. When all spots are taken, the course is full and we place subsequent applicants onto a waiting list.

School Policies:

A reminder that before registering, please read our School Policies.

If you don’t see the registration form directly above this text, you can click this link to go directly to it.

Registration Details:

Minimum Enrollment: If a minimum enrollment is not met by the application deadline, those signed up have two options. The program can be run with below minimum enrollment, but with an increase in tuition (to meet the minimum enrollment level), or the program may be cancelled and the full tuition (including the deposit) will be refunded.

About the essay for extended programs: Please keep in mind that you’re not applying to a doctorate program in English composition or creative writing. But since the possibility of us meeting in person before the course is low, we ask you to write a short essay in order to get to know a little bit about you. We don’t use it as a basis for admission decisions. We only use it to get a feel for who you are and where you’re coming from. So if you’re the type who stresses about things like this, don’t. Sit down with a piece of paper and write like you’re introducing yourself to a friend of a friend.

Pre-Program Paperwork

Before the start of each course or trip all participants are required to fill out and sign both the Liability Release Form and the Acknowledgement Of Risk Form, linked below. For long-term programs, you will also be required to fill out a medical history which we will provide upon registration.

Printable Registration Form:

We strongly prefer online registrations using the form above, but you can also print, fill-out our old registration and mail it to our Ashland, Maine PO Box:

Typos, Etc.
Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
