Canoe Poling & Outdoor Leadership For Working Guides On The St. Croix River

Course Calendar     Register Now

Join us for a week of canoe guide training on the St. Croix river. We’ll be running the section from Vanceboro to Loon Bay, setting up canvas hot tents at night, and spending a lot of time learning to pole up and down the many rapids on the river. By not having a lot of miles to make every day, we’ll be able to take time to dial in on the boat skills a seasoned river guide should hold.

  • Guiding and outdoor living systems
  • Poling, paddling, lining canoes
  • Canvas tents and trail stoves

This is not a trip for beginners. Participants should be comfortable in a canoe and have tried poling in the past. Ideally this is for working guides looking to upgrade their skills.

This trip will run immediately following the Brushfire! Rendezvous at the field school.

Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
