Privacy Policy: We don’t sell, rent, lease, lend, loan, trade, or make public your name or contact information. Ever.
GI Bill®: For GI Bill® tuition information, visit our GI Bill® page.
Deposit Policy: Your spot on a course is not secured until we receive your deposit. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a course is already full, we will refund 100% of your deposit. Click on the program type above (or scroll down) to determine the deposit.
Tuition Schedule Policy: Your spot on a course is secured when we receive your deposit. The balance of the tuition is due 30 days prior to the start of a course. If you are planning to finance your tuition on a course, we must receive the paperwork more than 30 days prior to the course start date.
Methods of Payment: We accept checks, money orders, cash (in person only, never send cash to us or anyone else), credit cards (only via PayPal), and WISE currency transfers. Our preferred method of payment are currency transfers through WISE. If you are outside the USA, this is a necessity, but it is also good within the USA. If interested in using WISE, contact us for details. Secondary choices are money orders and checks. They should be sent to our Field School address:
Jack Mountain Bushcraft School
PO Box 77
Ashland, ME 04732
Note: We often receive payments from accounts where the name on the account is not remotely similar to the name of the student. Please contact us to let us know the name of the student the payment is for, either through the payment platform or via email.
If Paypal Links Don’t Work: Occasionally Paypal changes how their links work. If you’re unsuccessful making the paypal buttons work, you’re not alone. When this happens, you can go to this link and enter the payment amount.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: With cancellations more than 60 days in advance of the course or trip, the tuition, less the deposit, will be refunded. With cancellations less than 60 days prior to the start of the course, all monies are non-refundable and non-transferable. These policies reflect the fact that we do not overbook, cancelled spaces are very difficult to fill at the last minute, and that the vast majority of costs are incurred in preparing for a course/trip.
Travel Insurance: We recommend that all participants consider purchasing travel insurance, which will refund your tuition if you choose to, or are forced to leave a course or trip early early. Check out Travelguard.com and InsureMyTrip for travel insurance. They cover non-refundable, prepaid expenses such as travel and tuition.
Medical Insurance: We recommend that all participants have medical insurance.
